True, I too believe that among the big 3, bleach has the best writing and character development and the best characters. and each of the supporting characters have their motives and intention and stories for which they take action and for which they exist in the series. All the characters are so well written.
These supporting characters are not like they exist only to hype up the protaganist ichigo and make him look good. Many of these characters can be protagonists in their own rights. For e.g. in the last light novel CFYOW Hisagi was made the protaganist of that LN. He is not even that popular compared to other popular and major supporting characters like zaraki, uruhara, byakuya, hitsugaya etc. But still hisagi too is so well written that he too has the writing of a protaganist.
I can say Tite Kubo wrote a great engaging story, with great characters and an amazing world building and lore.
I hope the success of Bleach Tybw anime motivates him to continue wiring the Jaws of Hell arc.

All the filler arcs. Only show I've watched so far that leaves the main story arc to go on a tangent for like 20 to 40 episodes. They're still good tho, so I still recommend. It's easily in my top 5 despite all the filler

I just think the anime is not really good. I did enjoy the first arc, but hueco mundo was so damn annoying. It was too long for nothing.

As a fan of Bleach myself, the dislike for Bleach anime by some people is understandable because of the intrusive fillers in OG Bleach anime back then. After such great arc of Soul Society arc there is a long and boring filler Bount Arc. Thankfully the newest Bleach anime aka TYBW arc is in the right direction, the studio adapted it nicely while inserting anime-original scenes which is like an extension of the canon-story itself not something completely unrelated like in OG Bleach's fillers.
Then in Arrancar Arc, in the middle of exciting fight suddenly it's a boring filler next episode.

I get why it's not as hyped as other shounen atm... its not all flash and bang, and the filler does take some push to get through. I think most know that it has a lot of great qualities though, like [main] story, characters, fights, etc. After all, when people talked about the "big 3" it was always one piece, naruto, and bleach.

Judging solely on my observations, I think that most of the people who have been hating on Bleach might have not been specifically salty about this anime itself, but about its fans. Why do I think so? Because the vast majority of random Bleach fans I ever met in various places, who were just random people (so they were not my friends and I didn't know them before meeting them), were totally obnoxious and simply annoying. Shoving Bleach down everyone's throat, insulting anyone who didn't want to switch the topic and talk about Bleach, thrashing other shows in a manner that stereotypical "generic childish shounen fans" would be ashamed of.
Not to forget being met with hostility after just mentioning a funfact about this series or its author. I'm talking here about many Bleach fans who are literally starting to boil after hearing that one of the biggest inspirations for Tite Kubo's Bleach was Saint Seiya created by Masami Kurumada (i.e. Soul Society arc was strongly inspired by Sanctuary arc, 13 Gotei and their role in the story were strongly inspired by 12 Gold Saints, and so on). Kubo-sensei admitted it clearly at least once, but from what I heard, he did it numerous times, which makes the whole situation even weirder. I can't remember when I saw, say, a Naruto fan getting angry after mentioning that Dragon Ball was one of shounen series that inspired Masami Kishimoto in the process of creating Naruto manga.
Well, in terms of entertainment, you can't expect absolutely all people to like exactly the same thing. That's normal. Some people (like me) might not find the concept itself interesting enough to even give this anime a try, and some other people (me included again, kekw) may be put off by the amount of episodes. "Just watch without fillers" doesn't sound well when the show has still a lot of episodes and they ain't even cover the whole manga.
I can refuse to watch Bleach, but still commend it as one of the most successful shounen series of all time, and, which is the most important in this thread's context, don't brag left and right about not watching it. Or worse, acting like a jerk towards people who gave it a try and ended up liking it a lot.

As for me i think the characters or story not fun enough. I watch bleach just until ichigo winning battle with rukia's brother.
I don't have any problem watching one piece including with the filler so i doubt the pace is the problem. The story and interraction also more fun. While in bleach... Idk i feels like too serious and everytime just about male char parts that get screen time unlike in one piece where both robin and nami get screen time and both of them also funny with their personality. In bleach case i like inoue but i heard people hate her.
@Luc36 The first line is why I don't like bleach. I just find the story and characters to be mediocre and it's not that entertaining. Also, bleach is not underrated, it's actually one of the most popular anime out there.

I wasn’t around back then It was infamous for people to sh*t on bleach during the early 2010s despite many never even reading it and when the manga ended. People were mad that ichiruki didn’t happen at the end.

Personally dropped it like 15 episodes in, don't really remember why. Don't have anything against it, but I started it over twice with many years apart and dropped it around the same point both times because I got bored.
